GREEN FLIGHTS

What are Green Flights
Air transport drives more people and produces less pollution per passenger than other modes of transport. The impact on the environment is much less than some people believe or support. Taking into account the distances that aircraft travel to carry a large number of passengers in a short period of time, the efficiency of air transport is indeed high.

The objectives of the aviation
For decades, air transport has made great efforts to minimize their environmental impact and achieving high efficiency is the only essential goal. Air transport has mainly set two goals: "neutral carbon emissions" by 2020 and a 50% reduction in net emissions by 2050.

The new aircraft technology
Modern aircraft are 70% more fuel efficient than they were 40 years ago, while research programs aim to achieve a further fuel savings of 50% by 2020. In addition, proper air traffic management and other operational improvements have the potential to still reduce fuel consumption by 8-18%. The introduction of modern communications, navigation, surveillance and air traffic management systems and improved infrastructure will allow companies to fly safer, quieter, shorter distances and thus reduce fuel consumption.

The ecological assessment of our flights
The ecological assessment provides travelers with an indication of the climatic impact and calculates the flight envelope of the flight. For its calculation, we have used information and tools from ICAO. This allows us to calculate which flight uses the fewest fuel per seat and therefore has the highest ecological rating. Although we have tried to do this as accurately as possible, we hope that additional data (such as seat occupancy on the aircraft) will help us improve and develop this calculation over time.
